Quality People are Valuable

In the book, Good to Great, Jim Collins writes about findings from many years of research which vitally conclude that what matters most in great companies are having the right people on the bus. The bus can go anywhere and the people will succeed because they have unified goals and beliefs toward a specific mission.⁹ Our personal lives are not much different. By surrounding ourselves with morally superb, intelligent, and creative people enthusiastically sharing our visions, we, in turn, have wonderful potential and probability to become great too. Let’s choose only quality individuals to associate with most of the time.

Actions Create Growth

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed” (Proverbs 16:3 NLT). God does not place something in our heart that we cannot accomplish. Let personal moral codes, principles, and life philosophy guide your thoughts, attitudes, words, actions, behaviors, routines, and lifestyle as you navigate through this colorful adventurous jungle terrain, called life. When I am proven my ways are wrong or can be better, I change my vantage point. How about you? This can lead to minds and behaviors cultivated for massive growth and delight.

Living Well Spent

“We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that death will tremble to take us” (Charles Bukowski). Continual growth and progress are pivotal keys toward living fully, therefore dying full, yet spent. You can’t spend your way to monetary wealth, only long-term joy fulfilling wealth. Remember to start where you are with what you have. No excuses, blaming, complaining, self-pity, regret, shame, or procrastination allowed. Get intentionally busy filling yourself up with greatness so you can spend yourself in an extravagant, yet selfless manner.

Consistency

“When people agree with me, I always feel I must be wrong” (Oscar Wilde). Legacies, principles, moral codes, and life philosophies can be passed down for individuals to adopt or dismiss according to personal discretion and personality. The vast greatness of legacies is in doing, struggling, being, and becoming a person of ethically upright character that can impregnate the minds, hearts, bodies, spirits, and souls of anyone whom chooses. Our privileged opportunity deciding who we are to be each day by giving and taking seeds of fruitful success is an advantageous privilege for us all. Don’t stop trying, learning, and relentlessly pursuing becoming the greatest version of yourself in order to serve and give the universe what she may otherwise lack. Not trying because of fear is unacceptable.

Choosing Your Destiny

“Choose the harder right, instead of the easier wrong” (Author unknown). Transition from dark to light. Stay standing strong, shining bright. Change environments and habits, being it’s easier to avoid temptation, than it is trying to beat temptation. Self-control only lasts so long in the midst of enticement. Cues create propensities toward behaving, acting, speaking, exercising, and eating in certain ways. Knowing what we desire and why, allows for clarity towards planning different measurable choices to implement at specific times, therefore manifesting a brand-new life. Frequent and consistent measurable goals set for specific times makes implementation likely and perpetual, eventually habitual. How we begin life is irrelevant and over, yet the rest of our story can be anything we choose.

Respond Responsibly

“A leader or a man of action in a crisis almost always acts subconsciously and then thinks of the reasons for his actions” (Jawaharlal Nehru). Our words and actions may easily be produced if we are unjustly pushed to the ground by a stranger. By preconceiving what we would do prior to an event happening we can recondition a previously conditioned response. We have the power to control our thoughts, attitudes, words, perceptions, and behaviors, in turn, governing ourselves and our responses responsibly toward both internal and external stimuli.

Think and Act From the Heart

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7 KJB). Elevate your standards of thought, speech, behavior, habit, lifestyle, and destiny. Remember Emerson’s insight that, “We become what we think about all day long.” We are all children of God, an infinite intelligence aiding us along our voyage, therefore let’s raise our thoughts heavenward, lest our own self-identity be perverted.

Ideals

Let’s be allegiant to our celestial lands of radical unity and harmonious love, serving essential ideals wholeheartedly in all thinking, speaking, and doing. May our attitudes, behaviors and principles of thought correlate with our deep-seated values, leading to divine peace and greatness. Compassionate loving kindness is pragmatically useful being we can help mitigate pain and suffering through generous gifts of thought, word, and deed. Allow permeated truths to dwell in the center of your soul, embracing virtues of excellence as foundational standards for guidance, direction, meaning, and purpose.

Build Self-Confidence

“Be like a promontory against which the waves continually break, but it stands firm and tames the fury of the water around it” (Marcus Aurelius). You are stronger and braver than you think. Create an intangible moat built of self-confidence, mental toughness, and fortitude, which surrounds your castle that is impenetrable to enemy forces. Focus on small daily rituals that prime self-confidence and positive lingering moods through small incremental wins leading to colossal victory.
