What’s In You?

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us” (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Right now, write down 15 character traits you like about yourself. Remember that progress only occurs by doing. Write 30 additional character traits you admire in others that you desire to acquire more of throughout your life journey. Work on developing admirable traits within yourself each day. Tomorrow is not a guarantee, therefore do what must be done, today. If this were your last day to be alive on planet earth, would you be proud of the choices, behaviors, and activities you’re partaking in? Is there someone or something you are neglecting that deeply yearns for your attention?

It has been said that fleas can be conditioned inside a jar. After hitting the lid so many times they stop jumping so high. The fleas no longer jump out of the jar even when the lid is removed. Recondition your minds and begin living without self-limiting beliefs, today. Success is waiting for each of us on the other side of fear, indecision, nonbelief, and external obstacles.

Similar conditioning has held true for elephants. The programming process results set in after being shackled to the ground while young and unable to break strong ropes. Even while grown and fully capable of becoming unshackled, their unbelief or conditioned response made the seemingly impossible feat that was utterly and easily possible, hinder them from even trying. Do not let that be you any longer. You have too much greatness and potential in you to be shackled by self-limiting beliefs another moment. Go get your greatness out into the world and live out your dreams.

“Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are stiffened” (Billy Graham). Stop thinking too much and get busy doing more deliberately with powerful intrinsic purpose and meaning. Act as if failure is not possible. Act brave and you will be brave. Internally, feel victory and you will possess victory.

Embracing Positive Change

“He that won’t be counseled, can’t be helped” (Benjamin Franklin). Remember that the Bible, among other wise suggestions, philosophies, and advice give extremely helpful tools to live prudent and productive lives. You must decide for yourself what works best. Please remain open-minded, while embracing PMAs. Why is it that everyone is trying to do me good?

Controlling the Controllable

Feelings linked to our identity have the potential and incredible strength to drive us toward repeating both good and bad behaviors. Be aware what you’re telling yourself about you. Anytime people say, “I can’t,” or feed an addiction or poor behavior with self-limiting beliefs, they are making deliberate conscious and sometimes unconscious choices not to live out their incredible greatness within. Being aware of what you do and why can allow for conscious control over behavioral patterns, therefore giving people the power to consciously choose a fulfilling life instead of downward cycles of misery, regret, and possible early demise. We all have the ability to pick a new identity that cyclically moves us upward, onward, and lifeward.

Opportunity for Growth

We can control our conscious mind, therefore reprogramming our subconscious mind. The conditioning we received into our subconscious mind from our parents, relatives, teachers and other environmental factors while growing up can be altered and improved upon. Our breathing is automatic, yet we can consciously control breathing, thus change our mood and how we feel. The same holds true to our automatic subconscious mind in relation to our conscious mind. Don’t allow circumstances to control you—rather, make opportunities out of discomfort through self-control, hard work, and constant and never ending improvement, thus leading to self-mastery.

Authentic Freedom

Undisciplined freedom can be hazardous to ourselves and others. Too little liberty or slavery from gluing harmful acts with our identity minimizes growth opportunities, leaving us childish, immature, paralyzed, and grossly and harmfully sticky. Similar to a viscous deadly mouse trap, keeping excessive adhesive by continuously catching and propagating bad behavior from our poor surroundings allows corruptible garbage into our minds, making us terminally ill slaves being smoked and baked into the ground. The only way to remedy our sickness lies within acknowledging, owning, desiring, seeking, and doggedly doing something radically different.

Taking responsibility for our lives and completely owning all we do and who we are entails recognizing and controlling the responses we make between both our intrinsic and extrinsic environments. Infused with self-discipline, self-restraint, and temperance, boundaries and limits create boundless and limitless abundant lives. Let’s choose to fix any small problem, sooner rather than later, preventing insidious benign infections from morphing, growing, and metastasizing cyclically throughout our mind, body, spirit, and soul. Be useful to yourself by utilizing the law of replacement. Eradicating bad habits, pollution, toxicity, and corruption from our lives occurs through being strategically intentional. Embracing good routines with loving kindness empowers the ability to drown out poor rituals, one death trap at a time.

Control Thy Tongue

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21 NIV). With abundant joy, be grateful, while using your tongue to give honeycomb delight to thy soul. The tongues expression gives ourselves and others either good or evil. Speak intentionally, considering the life-transforming powers that our tongue possesses. Through our thoughts, words, and actions we create good with good and evil with evil. If you don’t like what’s being given and reaped from your tongue, take a close look at your daily habitual thoughts. Ask yourself, “What am I feeding my mind?” Change your thoughts in order to harvest magnificent crops of greatness, which, in turn, have incredible powers to change lives from the inside out.
