Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want To Do?

“I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway” (Romans 7:19 NLT). People like instant gratification, taking the path of least resistance, and neglect mastering thyself by becoming the best versions of themselves. Ruling yourself makes you more powerful than a king. It’s been said that the price of discipline or neglect is pennies versus a fortune. Unfortunately, people allow fear, stinking thinking, and external obstacles stand in their way to greatness. The act of omission is vastly worse than the act of commission. How about raising your standards, while doing what should or needs to be done, today?

What’s In You?

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us” (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Right now, write down 15 character traits you like about yourself. Remember that progress only occurs by doing. Write 30 additional character traits you admire in others that you desire to acquire more of throughout your life journey. Work on developing admirable traits within yourself each day. Tomorrow is not a guarantee, therefore do what must be done, today. If this were your last day to be alive on planet earth, would you be proud of the choices, behaviors, and activities you’re partaking in? Is there someone or something you are neglecting that deeply yearns for your attention?

Making Dreams Reality

Another Tony Robbins saying is “Where focus goes energy flows.”⁸ Many entrepreneurs and successful people in life use a laser-beam focus to achieve and hit their desired targets. Now, it’s your turn to accomplish and unleash greatness within. As the Nike slogan states, “Just do it.”

Are you fearful? Do it anyway! Ardent desires backed by your whys, self-belief, and united with colossal immediate action are vital ingredients toward producing massive forward momentum that leads to continual progressive growth and making your dreams a reality.

How Does Time Make Dreams Come True?

“They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself” (Andy Warhol). We all have the ability to change and become the best version of ourselves, but it must be a conscious choice backed by consistent desire, focus, action, determination, persistence, and self-discipline. Getting from where we are to where we want to be takes courage and hard work, which we are all capable of doing. It is through doing and pursuing our dreams that the beautiful metamorphosis of becoming takes place.

Desire and Do

When we truly want something, as much as air, we will do whatever it takes and go anywhere to get it. Be a go-getter, while embracing positive mental attitudes (PMAs). Negative mental attitudes (NMAs) suck the life out of ourselves, along with those around us. PMAs produce energy in ourselves and others. PMAs are caught like a cold, although vibrate positive energy and wonderful emotions, unlike an illness. Positive attitudes change everything (PACE) is a worthy acronym for us to embrace. We must be aware of our thoughts, attitudes, emotions, feelings, words, principles, values, behaviors, philosophies, habits, and comprehensive internal and external environments. Be true to your dreams so you can make them reality by pushing through undesirable feelings and into success.

New Day

“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility” (Eleanor Roosevelt). Take accountability for who and where you are in life. If you desire exponential positive forward progress and something radically different from what you are currently experiencing, definitively decide to valiantly make dreams happen, while never getting stuck stewing in the review mirror. Each day is brand new, full of opportunity and potential. Similarly, you can reinvent yourself daily by heeding wonderful possibilities toward further growth and graciously developing additional gifts, talents, skills, and abilities to give to our magnificent universe.

Do Your Best

“Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions” (Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.). It has been hypothesized that humans only use 5 to 10 percent of their brains, while gold medal Olympic medalists use up to 20 percent capacity. Imagine if you tapped into your full potential each day. Your dreams, goals, and achievements can truly become boundless. Decide to use your mind creatively, curiously, passionately, and diligently, becoming unstoppable. Be the best version of yourself by doing your best in all you do.

Intentional Help

Let’s remember not to perspire when we ought to be sweating. Work ethic encompasses unstoppable diligent effort toward architecting our lives how we wish with the cards dealt to us. There will be ebbs and flows of highs and lows, although maximize the voyage by becoming full of joy, vigor, enthusiasm, and tranquility along our ABLE quest to greatness. Curiosity and desire, combined with helping others is key to our daily vitality. A simple smile or sincere complement is useful and uplifting for all. Who have you helped today?

Explore Joy

Remember to feel and express joy, while paving roads toward actualizing dreams come true. It is while we are making plans for our future that life happens. Each adventurous exploration from who and where we are to who and where we want to be is life itself. Being, is life, which becomes magnificently fulfilling when accompanied with a warm smile, heart-felt perpetual peaceful solace, and the magical omnipotence of lavishly graceful love embodied for oneself and others.  Embracing internal truths and radical honesty have supremely healing upward cyclical powers when harnessed and practiced repeatedly. What makes you genuinely happy? Why not do more of that? Bring on the joy, today.
