“Experience is not what happens to you, it is what you do with what happens to you” (Aldous Huxley). Develop the attitude that life happens for you and not to you. Blunders can become wonderful blessings in our lives once we accept, remedy, and forgive ourselves and others. Acknowledge the mistakes from our choices, as well as unspeakably unjust cruelties done to us have made us into who we are today. Now, with these PMAs and enlightened acknowledgement, understanding that life happens for us and not to us can profoundly transform our lives.
“The gods help them that help themselves” (Aesop). Do not passively expect blessings to be dropped from the sky into your lap by praying without followed-up deliberate determined action. Let’s do our part and live life on purpose. Remember the law of reciprocation. Blessings may not come in the exact form given, but they come indeed.
“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some” (Charles Dickens). Focus on the present gift of now, not being hindered by yesterday’s events, which are vapor in the wind. Allow goodness to flow radiant light from every orifice of your presence, while practicing being proactive and not reactive with your life.
Consider making your bed as a starting point toward creating or fortifying self-control. Practice the daily routine of being grateful for the multitudes of blessings in your life. Each day above ground is a wonderful day to be alive. Taking consistent action when we do not feel like it promotes self-restraint, reinforcing thoughts, words, and behaviors that will thrust us forward by leaps and bounds into living abundantly and full. Grow more influential and magnanimous by the thoughts you think, words you speak, and behaviors you act upon. Attitudes of self-discipline, reception, willingness, cooperation, and genuine self-expression toward god-like noble ideals creates monumentally mighty deft hope, which annihilates the most viciously inhumane seemingly unbearable despair known to mankind. The attitude of hope patiently endures all hardship, while thinking optimistically, believing ceaselessly, seeing realized dreams through darkness, and anticipating and appreciating triumphant victory around the corner. Hope perseveres on this side of ABLE.
“Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident” (Psalm 27:3 NLT). “Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17 NLT). Remember to be brave, act brave. Control your thoughts through positive mental attitudes (PMAs) and positive self-talk. Replace bad with an overwhelming amount of consistent and persistent good.
Furthermore, daily, hug your kids, kiss your spouse, and tell your family how much you love them, give genuine and sincere complements, show up, and be fully engaged. The returns are undeniably rewarding. Go forth with courage and zeal upon your exploration into uncharted terrains and discover the truly brave, adventurous, and beautiful life that awaits.
